This blog is to accompany a course in online facilitation offered by Otago Polytechnic and led by Leigh Blackall. There's a fabulous wiki set up to manage the course & ... I'm still finding the instructions a little chaotic. But hey - chaos can be fun! I hereby let go of any concerns about "doing it wrong" and as of now am just diving in... =Splash!=
My hopes for this course are to expand my circle of online facilitation colleagues, to learn from others and share what I know.
My work is in online communications & community building, and I am the Community Technology Steward for the World Café. Explaining all that needs far too much room to put in an initial blog post, so we'll just have to uncover more of this as we go. :-)
I have a ridiculously out-of-date website that I PROMISE to update soon, and I blog in a number of places, including my primary blog at the Beauty Dialogues.
I'm a writer and photographer, a nature-freak and hopeless idealist. I believe in the transcendent language of art, and think one of the keys to a workable global future will be our ability to connect with each other in truly generative & meaningful ways.
It's also my belief that the world wide web offers us an unprecedented opportunity for that kind of inter-connection, and will play a vital role in humanity's process towards that goal. This is why I choose to focus my career and creative attention on creating nature-friendly, positive environments for human connection & interaction.
I look forward to meeting you!
